Join Stefanie for an interactive day of learning focused on rethinking the role of the library in our school communities. This workshop is designed to offer library leaders and educators a chance to reimagine their work in the context of an ever-changing information landscape.

The day will be divided into three sessions:
Disrupting the student experience
Change is the only constant and as educators it is our role to ensure our students are prepared for the world (and the workforce) of the future. This session focuses on the changing needs of library users, with a spotlight on how libraries can add value to the student experience.

 Readers Who Teach
The role of teachers in modelling a love of reading is one of the key factors in motivating students to read. This session focuses on the provocation for change ‘readers who teach’ and explores research mapped strategies to support teachers in increasing their awareness of their own reading habits and practices.

The future of school libraries
Inspired by R. David Lankes work on new librarianship and use of conversation theory, this session challenges participants to re-think the mindset and personal strengths of whose who work in school libraries, and start a conversation about the future role of libraries in our school communities. It includes dedicated networking and collaborative planning time.
